REVITALISASI PEMBELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM MELALUI PENDEKATAN PROJECT BASED LEARNING

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instruction plays a strategic role in shaping students' character, moral conduct, and spirituality. However, in practice, PAI instruction in schools often faces various challenges, such as the dominance of lecture-based methods, low student engagement, and the suboptimal integration of Islamic values into real-life contexts. This Community Service (PKM) initiative aims to revitalize PAI instruction through the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach. The implementation process involved needs analysis, training for PAI teachers, guidance in developing project-based instructional materials, classroom implementation of PjBL, and activity evaluation. The results demonstrate an improvement in teachers' pedagogical competence, increased student engagement and creativity, and the creation of project outputs that reflect the internalization of Islamic values. The Project-Based Learning approach proved effective in making PAI instruction more contextual, meaningful, and focused on character building. This initiative is expected to serve as a model for innovative and sustainable PAI instructional development in both schools and *madrasahs*References
