Abstract

This research aims to find out whether Islamic Religious Education textbooks prepared by teachers can help students improve students' understanding of Islamic Religious Education subjects amidst easy access to knowledge via internet sources and students' interest in reading (books) is currently relatively low. . Remembering that this subject is an important mandatory subject to be taught at SDN. 64 Tanatoa. To support the Islamic Religious Education learning process, learning media and textbooks are needed as one of them. The type of research used is empirical juridical, which emphasizes one variable, namely the benefits of textbooks as an effort to increase students' understanding of PAI subjects. This research uses qualitative descriptive methods and approaches to obtain results which can be concluded that the existence of Islamic Religious Education textbooks really helps students in completing the tasks given because the textbooks provided by the teacher are equipped with competency test sheets, so they can increase students' understanding of the subject.
