Penggunaan Strategi Redefinisi Kontekstual oleh Guru dalam Pengajaran Membaca di Sekolah Menengah Atas Islam Indonesia

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas Strategi Redefinisi Kontekstual dan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi-eksperimental dengan menggunakan desain kelompok kontrol nonequivalent karena kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen tidak dipilih secara acak. Ada dua variabel, yaitu variabel bebas (variabel bebas adalah penggunaan Strategi Redefinisi Kontekstual) dan variabel terikat (Variabel terikat adalah keterampilan membaca siswa). Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas dua MA Bontomarannu tahun akademik 2016/2017 yang terdiri dari 28 siswa, 16 siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 12 siswa sebagai kelompok kontrol. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah tes membaca yang digunakan dalam tes awal dan tes akhir. Hasil data menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan Strategi Redefinisi Kontekstual dari mereka yang diajar dengan menggunakan metode konvensional. Nilai rata-rata post-test (69,03) pada kelompok eksperimen lebih besar daripada nilai rata-rata post-test (64,70) pada kelompok kontrol. Nilai t-test (1,568) lebih rendah daripada t-table (2,048) pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 dengan derajat kebebasan (df) = 26. Oleh karena itu, hipotesis H0 diterima dan H1 ditolak. Berdasarkan temuan dan pembahasan penelitian, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan Strategi Redefinisi Kontekstual oleh guru tidak meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa kelas II MA Bontomarannu Takalar.
